Association Between Emotion Regulation and Body Image Concerns in a Group of Adolescent Boys: Interaction With the Internalization of the Sociocultural Body Ideal

This study examined the relationships of sociocultural body ideal internalization, difficulties in emotion regulation, and their interaction with image concerns a group 423 adolescent boys. Participants were aged from 12 to 17 years old completed multiple self-reported questionnaires. Regression analyses latent moderation structural equations performed. Both variables positively correlated dissatisfaction, drive for muscularity, restrained eating, emotional eating. The internalization men’s moderated between regulation some concerns. These results are line findings other studies among adult men women, dominant theories concerns, which have been derived especially women populations.
